Professional Development Schedule

The 2002/2003 Professional Development Days and their proposed uses are noted below. This schedule maintains the integrity of Article 8, specifically sections 8-1-2-1 and 8-1-2-2 of our new Teacher Partnership/Agreement, and recognizes the importance of both school and district initiatives. You will be provided with information about district initiated professional trainings weeks ahead of time. You can be assured that literacy and math will be a focus of many of these sessions, in order to support the district's push for achievement, and it is our goal to give the necessary attention to other content areas as well.

FOR CONTINUOUS CALENDAR SCHOOLS ONLY, you need to add two more _ day conferences to your schedule. We suggest October 3 and March 13 For providing the two extra half-days, CONTINUOUS CALENDAR SCHOOLS ONLY will use Friday, May 23 as a non-school day.

Please note that on the first two school days of the year, four hours are provided for school site initiatives, and four hours for additional teacher planning. The last day of school provides for four hours of teaching and four hours of individual teacher planning.
